Steven C. George, MD, PhD,

 

has been named chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, effective July 1. George is currently a professor at the University of California, Irvine.

Thalachallour Mohanakumar, PhD,

 

the Jacqueline G. and William E. Maritz Chair in Immunology and Oncology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, has received the Paul I. Terasaki Clinical Science Award from the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics. The Terasaki award recognizes significant contributions to the fields of clinical transplantation, histocompatibility, and immunogenetics.

Andrew S. Yoo, PhD,

 

a researcher at the School of Medicine, has received a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor given by the the U.S. government to independent researchers early in their careers.
