Ron Bose, MD, PhD,

 

assistant professor in the School of Medicine, has authored a paper that was recognized by the Journal of Biological Chemistry as a paper of the year. Boses paper describes the combined structure of two proteins that, when bound together, drive the growth of many breast cancers.

Graham Colditz, MD, DrPH,

 

a disease-prevention expert at Siteman Cancer Center and the School of Medicine, will receive the 2014 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)–American Cancer Society Award. Colditz is an internationally recognized leader in cancer prevention.

John DiPersio, MD, PhD, and Robert Schreiber, PhD,

 

chief of the Division of Oncology in the School of Medicine and director of the school’s Center for Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Programs, respectively, were honored by the American Association for Cancer Research. DiPersio received the 19th annual Joseph H. Burchenal Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Cancer Research, and Schreiber received the second annual Lloyd J. Old Award in Cancer Immunology.

Tia Drake,

 

executive director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at the School of Medicine, was honored with the GME Institutional Coordinator Excellence Award. The award is given by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and recognizes institutional coordinators who play pivotal roles in ensuring the success of sponsored training programs.

Joe Fox, MBA,

 

associate dean and director of MBA programs at the Olin Business School, has been named president of the MBA Roundtable. The MBA Roundtable facilitates the exchange of information and resources on MBA curricular innovation. More than 170 business schools from around the world are members.

Peter MacKeith, M.Arch.,

 

associate professor in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, was presented with the insignia of Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland in honor of his work in promoting Finnish architecture and design over the last 25 years and his commitment to strengthening Finnish-American relations.
